How to sell on Vinted: a step-by-step guide

Vinted makes selling second-hand clothes simple, but some listings sell in a day and others sit for months. The difference is rarely luck. It’s the photos, the title, the price and how quickly you answer. Here’s the whole process, step by step.

1. Choose what to sell

Start with clothes in good condition that people search for: known brands, jeans, jackets, sportswear and anything that’s in season. Wash everything first, check the pockets and remove pet hair. Winter coats sell best in autumn and summer dresses in spring, so it pays to list a little ahead of the season.

2. Take clear photos

Photos decide whether anyone opens your listing. Use daylight and a plain background, show the whole item first, then the back, the labels and every flaw. Our guide on how to take Vinted photos that sell covers it in detail.

3. Write a title people search for

Buyers search by brand, item and size, so put those in the title. A good pattern is brand, item type, the detail that matters most, then size. For example: Levi’s 501 jeans, dark blue, W30 L32. Skip words like “beautiful” or “must have” that nobody searches for.

4. Describe it honestly

  • The condition, in plain words: new with tags, very good, good, worn.
  • The measurements: length, chest, waist, inside leg. Sizes differ between brands, measurements don’t.
  • The material, from the care label.
  • Every flaw, with a photo of it.
  • How it fits, if you know: runs small, oversized, fitted.

5. Set the right price

Search Vinted for the same item and look at what similar ones in the same condition cost. Price a little above where you’d be happy to sell, because many buyers make an offer. You can also turn on bundle discounts in your settings, so buyers get a reduction when they take several items. That moves more stock than lowering every price.

6. Ship quickly

When something sells, Vinted gives you a shipping label and a deadline. Pack the item neatly and send it well before then. Take a photo of the item in the parcel before you seal it: if a buyer says something was missing or damaged, you have proof of what you sent.

7. Get good reviews and keep selling

  • Answer messages quickly and politely, even the low offers.
  • Leave a review for every buyer. Many leave one back.
  • List a few items regularly rather than everything at once.
  • Keep the same style of photos so your wardrobe looks like a shop.

Fees, shipping options and Buyer Protection work a little differently in each country and can change, so check Vinted’s own help pages for the details where you sell.
