What does bumped mean on Vinted? Are bumps worth it?

A bumped item on Vinted is one the seller has paid to push higher in other members’ feeds and search results for a few days. It can help the right item get seen. It can’t fix a listing nobody wants to click. Here’s how Bumps work and when they’re worth your money.

What a Bump does

A Bump is a paid feature you add to one listing. While it runs, the item appears higher in members’ newsfeeds and search results, and Vinted shows it to the members most likely to be interested, based on their preferences. If you see a listing marked as bumped, that’s what the seller paid for.

How long it lasts and what it costs

  • A Bump runs for 3 or 7 days in a row, or until the item sells.
  • The price depends on the item’s price and on the length you choose.
  • One Bump per item at a time, and it can’t be moved to another item.
  • You can lower the item’s price while it’s bumped, but the Bump costs the same.
  • If the item goes into review right after you upload it, the Bump isn’t processed and you aren’t charged.
  • If the item is removed for breaking Vinted’s catalogue rules, the Bump isn’t refunded.

Bump or Showcase?

A Bump promotes one item. Showcase (it used to be called Wardrobe Spotlight) promotes your whole wardrobe for 7 days: members looking for the kind of thing you sell may see up to 15 of your listings together, and they can follow you from there. One Bump suits a single item worth pushing; Showcase suits a full wardrobe with lots of items in similar sizes or styles.

When a Bump is worth it

  • The item is worth more than the Bump costs, with room to spare. Bumping a cheap T-shirt rarely pays.
  • The cover photo is clear and the title has the brand, item and size. A Bump brings more views; the listing still has to turn them into a sale.
  • The price is in line with similar items. Extra views on an overpriced item just show more people that it’s overpriced.
  • It’s the right season. A coat bumped in October meets far more buyers than one bumped in June.

Free ways to get more views first

  • Make the first photo show the whole item, well lit, on a plain background. See our guide to Vinted photos that sell.
  • Put brand, item type and size in the title, because that’s what people search for.
  • Answer messages and offers quickly.
  • Turn on bundle discounts, so buyers who like one item look at the rest.
  • List a few items regularly instead of everything at once.

A cover photo that earns the click

Worn photos often make people stop and look, because they show how a piece fits. If you don’t want to pose yourself, Vintsee puts your own photo of the item on an AI model, keeping the colour, print, logos and wear as they are, and writes the title and description too. Keep your own photos of the real item in the listing next to it.
